Ingredients

3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 14 ounce active dry yeast
12 cup butter, softened (Do Not Use Margarine*)
1 large egg, whisked
34 cup water (120°F)

Instructions

  • For making the dough in a bread machine

    1. Prepare the dough by adding water, 1/4 cup of butter, whisked egg, salt, bread flour, sugar, and yeast to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
    2. Select the dough or manual cycle on the bread machine and start the process.
  • Shaping and baking the rolls

    1. While the dough is being prepared, place 1/4 cup of butter in a baking pan and melt it over low heat, greasing the bottom of the pan by tilting it.
    2. Once the dough cycle is complete, transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness.
    3. Using a floured 2 3/4-inch round cutter, cut the dough into circles.
    4. Dip each dough circle into the melted butter in the pan, fold them in half, and arrange them in rows in the greased pan.
    5. Combine any leftover dough trimmings, re-roll, and cut additional rolls if needed.
    6. Cover the rolls and let them rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
    7. Bake the rolls in a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown.
    8. Remove the rolls from the pan and let them cool on a wire rack.
    9. For extra richness, brush the rolls with additional melted butter before serving.
    10. Enjoy these delicious Parker House Rolls, a versatile and beloved classic recipe!
