Ingredients

3 lbs cheap cut of beef
34 ounce onion soup mix
2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • For Preparing the Roast

    1. Place the pot roast in a large crock pot.
    2. Spread a thin layer of prepared yellow mustard over the roast.
    3. Sprinkle the onion soup mix on top of the roast.
    4. Cook on low for 8 hours (or 8 hours on high if the roast is frozen).
  • For Optional Gravy

    1. Strain the fat off the liquid and discard it.
    2. Transfer the reserved liquid to a saucepan and bring it to a slight boil.
    3. Mix cornstarch with water to create a paste.
