Instructions

- In a saucepan, combine the frozen mashed potatoes, whole milk, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil while stirring continuously.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer until the mixture is creamy, approximately 8 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the butter until fully incorporated.
- Serve the soup by ladling it into bowls and optionally topping it with grated cheddar cheese, chopped scallions, or cooked crumbled bacon.
